I had exactly the same problem with my Flytec Basic Vario GPS. And this still drives me crazy. I'm afraid, there's no solution: The problem is Windows 10, 8 and 8.1 don't support any more the connection with an USB-Cable. On the Web-Site Flytec lapidary says:UWE wrote:Somebody an idea? ... or a working cable ?
Currently I access my flight tracks on my office PC, which has Windows 7. They offer an converter but it costs 40€.With Microsoft’s release of Windows 8 and later 8.1, access to flight data or configuration of older Flytec devices through a USB cable is no longer working. The manufacturer of the USB/Serial converter chip took the opportunity with Windows 8 to enforce a generation change of his products.
